One of the biggest complaints I hear most often as a Conscious Living Strategist is “I don’t fall asleep easily.” In fact I went through a troubled sleep period right after I separated from a 23 year long term relationship. I found that I could not fall asleep and when I did I would wake up in the middle of the night. Pretty miserable and certainly not conducive to creating an extraordinary lifestyle which is what you want, right? In fact, if you aren’t sleeping well everything else you do to promote well-being won’t work as well. The good news is there are many simple, easy to implement strategies that will not only help you fall asleep but stay asleep. The number one pleasing tip I like to share is eating food with dinner or as an after dinner snack that are melatonin-rich will avoiding foods that are stimulants such as caffeine and sugar. Melatonin-rich foods include bananas, ginger and tomato and oh they taste so good. You can make a zesty tomato ginger bisque with banana ice cream for dessert. Other pleasing actions you can take include taking a yummy essential oil bath with relaxing flavors such as lavender, roman chamomile, vetiver and ylang ylang as well as making your bedroom a sleep haven. Ditch the electronics (leave them in your office or living room), paint the room with a pleasant mood setting tone, and make sure that at night your haven is dark. Thanks to some additions to my diet and a good support system I am now sleeping really well and you can too.
