I hear from women all the time that they are self-conscious about the way their vagina smells or tastes. The thing about vaginas is, barring bacterial infections and hygiene issues, they smell like only one thing: vaginas. So be assured that in most cases there is absolutely nothing wrong with the way that you taste or smell.

Vaginas have a natural PH balance that is slightly acidic which impacts its taste. Your vagina isn’t supposed to equate to eating a bowl of fruit and yet I get that sometimes you or your partner aren’t digging what’s going on in your vaginal bouquet.

Before I go any further let me point out that I am not big on the “man-pleasing” ethos for the sake of merely pleasing a man. If you like someone enough to have sex with them, then you should like them enough to have a frank conversation about body secretions and more.

So what could help if you or your partner need to sweeten things up a bit?

I have three eats to recommend and even though they haven’t been beyond-a-shadow-of-a-doubt proven to change your vagina’s taste I think they work pretty well.

1. FRUIT – Fruit in all its varieties is a great thing to eat anyway and there is some evidence that slices of melon, mangoes, and apple are vaginal fluid aids. It appears that the fruit that tops the list to improve taste is the pineapple.

2. PROBIOTICS – The best way to keep your vagina healthy is to focus on keeping your pH balance in check and probiotics do just that. I recommend consuming PREbiotics so that your body naturally makes probiotics or try eating more food directly after it has been picked as they are covered in elevated biotics.

3. WATER – Vaginas are a mucous membrane, so the better hydrated you are, the better hydrated those membranes will be. Water acts as a flushing system so it can also bring things back to whatever is normal for you. It is important to note that drinking water from an efficient filtering system is the best route to go.

Strong smelling food such as asparagus, broccoli, garlic, and curry can make your crotch sweat smellier as can alcohol, coffee, and red meat.

So, eat your fruit, take your pre/probiotics, and drink plenty of water and of course, THIS GOES FOR MEN TOO!
